Our Competitions
We offer Six different types of competitions (same dates every year) & One Masterclass for attendees to focus on:
Two Pianists (Duet &Duo) Competition (late Feb 6)
Competition by Composer (late March 22)
International Etude Competition (late Aug 27)
US New Star Strings Competition (late Nov 6) - any strings instrument from violin, viola, cello, double bass, or harp
International New Star Piano Competition (late Dec 7)
With a variety of competitions to offer, students can explore different styles throughout the process of preparing for the competition.
Two Pianists (Duet & Duo) Competition
January 30, 2024 - Regular Deadline
The application would be $150 per pair of two ($75 per person) when the application form, all fees, and the video are submitted prior to January 30, 2024.
February 6, 2024 -Late Submission Deadline
The application would be $190 per pair of two when the application form, all fees, and the video are submitted after January 30, 2024, but before February 6, 2024.
March 6, 2024 - Winner Announcements
The winners of the US New Star Piano Duet Competition will be announced on usansmc.org by March 6, 2024. The winners and their videos will be posted on the US New Star Music Competition website. Winners will be announced for each category for each age group.
March 20, 2024 - Awards Sent
Certificates and cash prizes will be sent by March 20, 2024 to the addresses of the applicants’ teachers for USA entries. The winners of the US New Star Piano Duet Competition will each receive a certificate, the international winners will received pdf certificates delivered by email. The First Prize winners will each receive a cash prize of $100 for applicant within USA.
Note for International Applicants: Due to unpredictable regular international mail, we will no longer send certificates to international entries. International applicants will received pdf certificates instead via registered email. As we have completely got rid of international shipping and handling fee, the max cash prizes for international entries will be refunded back to your credit card - which max out with the application fee sent (including late fee).
Optional: International applicants may choose to submit extra 75 dollars for covering the certified international mail fee + credit card payment & processing fee to receive the physical winning certificates.
Piano Competition by Composer
March 15, 2024 - Deadline
The application would be $75 per song when the application form, all fees, and the video are submitted prior to March 15, 2024.
March 22, 2024 - Late Submission Deadline
The application would be $95 per song when the application form, all fees, and the video are submitted after March 15, 2024.
May 5th, 2024 - Winner Announcements
The winners of the US New Star Piano Competition by Composer will be announced on usansmc.org by May 5th, 2024. The winners and their videos will be posted on the USNSMC.org and our YouTube Site at: https://www.youtube.com/user/USNewStarMusicLLC. Winners will be announced per category and per each age group.
May 15th, 2024 - Awards Sent
Certificates and cash prizes will be sent by May 15th, 2024 to the addresses of the applicants’ teachers for USA entries. The winners of the US New Star Piano Competition by Composer will each receive a certificate, the international winners will received pdf certificates delivered by email. The First Prize winners will receive a cash prize of $100 for each category and age group for applicant within USA.

International Etude Competition
Aug 20, 2024 - Deadline
The application would be $95 per application when the application form, all fees, and the video are submitted prior to Aug 20, 2024.
Aug 27, 2024 - Late Submission Deadline
The application would be $115 per application applies if any of the application form, all fees, or the video is submitted after Aug 20, 2024.
September 27, 2024 - Winner Announcements
The winners of the US New Star Etude Piano Competition will be announced on usansmc.org by September 27, 2024. The winners and their videos will be posted on the USNSMC.org and our YouTube site at https://www.youtube.com/user/USNewStarMusicLLC . Winners will be announced per age group.
October 10, 2024 - Awards Sent
Certificates and cash prizes will be sent by October 10, 2024 to the addresses of the applicants’ teachers. The winners of the US New Star Etude Piano Competition will each receive a certificate, and the Grand Prize winner will receive a cash prize of $500, the Top Runner Up will receive a cash prize of $300, and the Second Runner Up will receive a cash prize of $100.
Due to unpredictable regular international mail, we will no longer send certificates to international entries. International applicants will received pdf certificates instead via registered email. As we have completely got rid of international shipping and handling fee, the cash prizes for international entries will be given through Paypal only.
Optional: International applicants may choose to submit extra 75 dollars for covering the certified international mail fee($68) + credit card payment &processing fee to receive the physical winning certificates.
International New Star Piano Competition
November 30, 2024 - Deadline
The application is $120 per application when the application form, all fees, and the video are submitted prior to November 30, 2024.
December 7, 2024 - Late Submission Deadline
The application fee is $140 per application when the application form, all fees, and the video are submitted after November 30, 2024.
January 7, 2025 - Winner Announcements
The winners of the International New Star Piano Competition will be announced on usansmc.org by January 7, 2025. The winners and their videos will be posted on the US New Star Music Inc YouTube site and USNSMC.org . Winners will be announced for each category for each age group.
January 21, 2025 - Awards Sent
Certificates and cash prizes will be sent by January 21, 2025 to the addresses of the applicants’ teachers. The winners of the International New Star Piano Competition will each receive a certificate, and the First Prize winners will receive a cash prize of $300.
